Join the picnic and celebration honoring Bishop Tom Shaw 

 

Everyone in the diocesan community is invited to gather for a celebration and commemoration of Bishop Shaw’s ministry.  This festive event will take place on Saturday, June 21, 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m., rain or shine, at the Pinebank Promontory on Jamaica Pond (corner of Perkins Street and the Jamaicaway) in Jamaica Plain, in the City of Boston.

 

The celebration will include remarks by Bishop Barbara C. Harris, with Bishop Frank Griswold preaching.

All are welcome to gather for a celebration and commemoration of Bishop Shaw’s ministry on June 21, 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m., rain or shine.   • Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy.  Ice cream and beverages will be provided.
  • Congregations are reminded to bring their memory books to present to Bishop Shaw during the worship service.

It will be a tribute to Bishop Shaw to have every congregation of the diocese represented at this joyful and fun celebration.

Transportation:
MBTA:  A shuttle will run from Forest Hills Station on the Orange Line (parking also available at Forest Hills) to the event site. The shuttle will run approximately every 15 minutes from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Pinebank Promontory is about a 20-minute walk from the Stonybrook T Station, also on the Orange Line.

Parking: Park at Hellenic College (50 Goddard Avenue) in Brookline. A shuttle will run from Hellenic College to the event site. The shuttle will run approximately every 15 minutes from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Pinebank Promontory is about a 15 minute walk from Hellenic College, just on the other side of Jamaica Pond.

Busing: Some deaneries are organizing buses. Please ask your parish clergy if this option is available in your deanery.
