Open Letter from Rev. Clarence, 6/12/22

Dear Members and Friends of St. James,

There is this week very little to report, which is a clear sign that summer, although not yet officially declared, has set in. Worship, however, has not taken a holiday. As noted many times in the past and repeated herein, we continue to observe diocesan guidelines regarding Covid-19, even as other places seem to relax heretofore in place practices. I am grateful to those attending in-person Eucharist who are also diligent in observing those guidelines.

I am pleased to announce that the Rev. Michael Goshgarian, onetime rector of St. James, now retired, shall be celebrant and preacher on Sunday, 26 June. I shall be taking several days leave, returning to the Finger Lakes Region of Upstate New York, where my family and I spent so many years. Please welcome Fr. Michael. Urgent pastoral matters, in case there be any, should be directed to our senior warden, Mr. William Brathwaite.

Finally, I offer you the Collect for Trinity Sunday:
Almighty and everlasting God, you have given to us your servants grace, by the confession of a true faith, to acknowledge the glory of the eternal Trinity, and in the power of your divine Majesty to worship the Unity: Keep us steadfast in this faith and worship, and bring us at last to see you in your one and eternal glory, O Father; who with the Son and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

May the peace of God, which passes all understanding, keep your hearts and minds in the knowledge and love of God, and of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord; and the blessing of God Almighty, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, be among you, and remain with you, and those whom you love, for ever. Amen.

Your fellow traveler on the Way,
