Getting TO St. James tomorrow will not likely be a problem. You may have to reroute to get home, however. See the following from Jackie Rossetti for the City of Somerville — important road closure information and invitation to the “Strike Up the Bands @ SomerStreets” event this Sunday, September 7. Family-friendly programming and live entertainment will take place along Holland St. from Davis Sq. to Teele Sq. from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, free of charge, and all are welcome. Please note the following traffic information related to the event:

  • No Parking on Holland St. from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Street closed to all vehicles 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. 
  • All side streets leading onto Holland St. will temporarily be converted to two-way traffic to allow residents to get to and from their homes, including Newbury St, Moore St., Gorham St., Paulina St., Simpson Ave., Jay St., Irving St., Wallace St., and Winter St.
  • Bus routes 87 and 88 will be rerouted from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more details, visit www.mbta.com or www.somervillema.gov.
