We encourage newcomers EVERY Sunday; we are always delighted to see new faces. But know that you might find it a bit more difficult to join us this Sunday due to the Race of Ireland. The following will help you get to St. James!

On Sun., Mar. 15, beginning at 9 a.m., City officials will detour vehicles in and around the Davis Sq. area to accommodate the running of the Race of Ireland road race, benefiting Somerville youth and Somerville athletics. Major roadways including Holland St., Powerhouse Blvd, Broadway (in the Ball Sq. corridor) Cedar St. and Highland Ave. between Cedar St. and Davis Sq. will be closed temporarily as runners pass, between 11 a.m. and approximately 1 p.m. Secondary roads in these areas may also be closed to traffic for a brief time to allow runners to pass.

The Davis Sq. area will be closed to all traffic from 9 a.m. to approximately 1 p.m. Buses traveling to Davis Sq. from College Ave. will be rerouted onto Dover St., and from Holland St. onto Cameron Ave.

Buses along the rest of the race route may be delayed for a short period of time. For full re-rerouting information, visit mbta.com.
We understand the difficulty that these races may cause in terms of traffic delays, and we are working with organizers of future races to determine possible changes to alleviate traffic and any other inconvenience. Starting with this race, additional police officers and race volunteers will be stationed in high traffic areas to ensure roads reopen as soon as possible.

As always, Police and MBTA officials will be stationed throughout these areas to direct traffic and provide detour information.

If you have any questions please call 311, or 617-666-3311.
