Service cancelled, 2/16/25

Dear Members and Friends of St. James,

Once again, within a week’s time, I write to announce that tomorrow Sunday’s Eucharist has been cancelled due to the pending snowstorm, and the follow-up freezing rain and sleet. 

The Annual Meeting, already previously postponed and now scheduled for tomorrow, has been again postponed.  It is now scheduled for next Sunday, 23 February, in St. Francis Hall.  These weather-controlled cancellations place us a bit close to the deadline of 1 March for submitting our canonically required annual report.  However, as your priest, I conclude that your individual and our communal safety overrides that institutional deadline.

However, please know and note: Your senior warden and I will track the weather predictions during the coming days, and should another cancellation be imminent, we will conduct our Annual Meeting via Zoom from my institutional account.

In the meantime, good people, take care of yourselves, those in your care, and cease not to pray for those elected officials who job it is to reach out to those in need of provisions that we cannot provide.
