The Golden Door Premieres

Posted on ; Filed under News

St. James parishioner and In Good Company member Renni Boy will appear in the premiere performance of The Golden Door May 16th and 17th.

Written by award-winning playwright Joyce Van Dyke, The Golden Door is set in an Armenian grocery store in a transitional Boston neighborhood. Ani, the third-generation Armenian-American owner, runs the failing store with her Italian-American husband, Marco. Unexpected events bring immigrants from Mexico, China and the Caribbean, along with descendants of immigrants from Eastern Europe and Ireland, into the store. As the customers struggle to honor their heritage while trying to fit in as Americans, they change not only the way they see each other, but also the future of the store.

Performances are 7:30pm at the Cambridge YMCA, 820 Mass Ave, Cambridge, MA. Tickets can be bought at the door or by clicking here: http://goldendoor.bpt.me/
