Youth Sunday, 2014

Our thanks to the youth of St. James for their contributions to today’s service. They all worked hard last Sunday to write the Prayers of the People and, during today’s service, led the congregation in reciting those prayers:

We pray for God’s people throughout the world, for our bishops, for all ministers and people.

We pray for peace, that fighting and wars will stop, that all people may learn to care for each other.

We pray for our president and the leaders of all nations and elected leaders in our state, that they may make wise decisions for the good of all creation.

We pray for people who are sick,, hungry, poor, in prison or in any kind of trouble, including those whose names are listed in the bulletin, and our friends Alex, Madeline, Meret, Mia, Gabrielle, and Oliver.

We thank you for all the blessings of this life, especially for food, clothing, shelter, and our families.

God of love and mercy, hear our prayer.

Reverend Karen also had help with the closing prayer:

Thank you, one and all, for making today’s service so special.
